 Conjunction/Conjunctor
A conjunction (conjunctor) is a type of word that connects equivalent sentence phrases and sentence parts (please see sentence structure, compound sentences, complex sentences, etc.), e.g.:
meine Eltern und ich
Er war bei uns und (er) hat von seiner Reise erzählt.

Further conjunctions are, e.g.: oder, aber, denn.
 Subjunction/Subjunctor
A subjunction (subjunctor) is a type of word that connects a main and a subordinate clause in complex sentences by introducing the subordinate clause, e.g.:
  Main Clause Subordinate Clause
dass:
 Ich weiß, dass er morgen kommt.
weil:
 Sie blieb zu Hause, weil sie krank war.
wenn:
 Man lebt gesund, wenn man Sport treibt.

Further subjunctions are, e.g.: damit, wie, ob, seit(dem), obwohl.

The subjunction um …(zu) introduces an infinitive group (an infinitive sentence), e.g.:
Wir fahren ans Meer, um uns zu erholen.
